About Steven

Forty years in the field, and still gathering the harvest.

Steven has farmed ethically in Yuba County for over 40 years — winegrapes, olives, and stone fruits — and now helps build a hyper-local food system connecting farmers with their neighbors.

His story

A life shaped by the table

Having travelled extensively abroad — including five formative years living in Greece and Sicily — Steven developed a deep appreciation for the culture surrounding food.

He understands that people are far more likely to eat well and sustainably once they experience the delight of knowing where their food comes from, taking part in bringing it to the table, and savoring it in an expanding company of friends.

Shared responsibility.

On the road

Picked ripe, delivered fresh

Using a refrigerated van awarded to him by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Steven gathers top-quality fruits and vegetables from his network of farming friends.

He brings them — picked ripe and delivered fresh — straight to local schools and food banks, so the neighbors who need it most taste the harvest at its very best.
